Rick

Rick's current daily routine: Breakfast, Read the newspaper, Walk for 1 hour 20 minutes, Shower, Blood pressure check, Rest, Lunch, Rest (maybe a video - a friend loaned us a carton full of old videos! Or sit in the sun to get warm), Walk for 40 minutes, Rest, Teatime, Television, Bedtime. Maybe a few visitors/phone calls added in for good measure.

Since his surgery Rick is feeling the cold like he has never felt it before - he needs extra clothes on during the day and extra rugs on the bed at night. Once cold he can't warm up easily and noone can give us a clue as to why this should be happening.

Over the weekend he did a few odd jobs around the unit and is now feeling sore in the shoulders, back and chest. He is still limited in his activities - we are waiting to hear from the cardiologist as to whether he is able to start driving again. Fortunately he has absolutely no inclination to resume work.

Radiotherapy treatment starts next Wednesday 11th April in Adelaide and consists of daily treatments at St Andrews Hospital (10 minutes from the unit), each treatment lasting around 15-20 minutes, with regular CT scans and checks. Time spent at the hospital will be around an hour each day.
