Reading

Since I enjoy autobiographies so much, I have just finished reading Jeannette Walls' memoir, The Glass Castle, detailing an incredibly difficult childhood, reared in a dysfunctional, though loyal family parented by an alcoholic father and an eccentric mother. Against all odds she graduates with honours from university and is now a New York journalist and a regular contributor to www.msnbc.com , while her mother chooses to remain homeless after many years "doing the skedaddle" with the family led by Rex who has since passed away.
More info at www.simonsays.com . Thanks to Olga for loaning me the book - one of the best I've read.
It reminded me so much of the harsh life of another great entertainer Frank McCourt.
